Native American Family
My name is Victor, and I am a low income Native American disabled single father of a daughter Evie (25 years) and two grandsons, whom I help take care of. My younger grandson Kody (4 years) had a brain cyst removal surgery back in September of 2011. Then had a second surgery to have a shunt attached to his skull to drain excess fluid from his brain to his stomach cavity, back in March of 2012. He has had seven surgeries since, do to faulty shunt equipment and liquid debris plugging the tube. It’s been a long hard year on us all. My poor little grandson being in and out of the hospital and in pain breaks our hearts. My family and friends suggested that we get a second opinion from a Seattle Doctor. We live in Spokane, WA. So we’re getting that second opinion. Kody is enrolled in a pre-k specialized program, but is absent a lot of the time do to all these surgeries. Intellectually, he is about two years behind. My older grandson Tyee (5 years) is average in all areas of growth. He loves going to kindergarten and learning. Both grandsons love their schools. I want to keep my grandsons' future bright and full of opportunities. So, I am humbly asking for donations for the following:
1 Mini-Van Repairs (for trip from Spokane to Seattle = 280 miles)
2 Gasoline & Hotel Cost For Seattle Doctor Appointments
3 Clothes Washer & Dryer Repairs
4 School Supplies Cost
Being that I am Native American, I've been asked if I drink alcohol. The answer is no, I do not drink alcohol. In fact, for my kids and me, I don't believe in alcohol, drugs, and smoking. Also, I don't believe in judging others for partaking in alcohol, drugs, and smoking. I love everyone unconditionally. A few of my close friends smoke and drink socially, and I love them all the same. I keep all my friends, family, and everyone in my thoughts and prayers. And wish everyone a happy healthy life!
Time Line Update - June 3, 2012
My grandson will be having another surgery on the 6th of June 2012. His shunt is not working, so it will be replaced by another shunt. He has more fluid around his brain this time more than ever. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you!
